My current work is exploring the broadness of the idea of a portrait. I’m using the concept of a portrait as an archive, documenting culture, relationships, personal effects. My drawings are a commentary on my surroundings; what I eat, what I wear, who I know. It reflects how I see everything around me and places a new importance and preciousness upon it. Through drawing, I’m trying to encounter and engage with my life in a fresh and critical way. I reinvent and re-examine what I see with lines and graphic color and hopefully inspire other’s to connect with their own life in a new way.
